DOUBLE TROUBLE HODGEPODGE!!!

This will be my last Hodgepodge posting. It has become too time consuming, particularly in light of the fact that I'm participating in the A to Z blogging exercise this month. It has been a lot of fun. I have enjoyed meeting my fellow bloggers who also are Hodgepodge veterans. Be well and keep writing. Oh, and one more thing...

                                                 A P R I L  F O O L ! ! !

Yes, I know it's technically April 2nd, but as I write this it is still April 1st. Enjoy this week's Hodgepodge!

1. Since these questions are posting on the first day of April it seems only right to ask-when was the last time you did something foolish? If you can't answer that one, try this one-when was the last time someone fooled you?
That's easy...today. I pulled an April Fool's prank on SWMBO. This was foolish on a number of levels. SWMBO cooks my food! SWMBO knows where I sleep! Most importantly,  shortly after we were married I taught my beloved SWMBO how to shoot a firearm. I've been sleeping with one eye open ever since. (Insert face palm here)

2. What's the last biography or non-fiction book you've read? Was it any good?
"BONHOEFFER; Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy" by Eric Metaxas. It is a biography of the German Lutheran Pastor who opposed Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Bonhoeffer was killed by the Nazis just before World War II ended. Bonhoeffer wrote the Christian classic "The Cost of Discipleship." It was very good. It gave a glimpse of life inside Nazi Germany. I recommend it!
3. Garlic-friend or foe? What's your favorite dish made with garlic?
Absolutely a friend. I love it in a variety of dishes.

4. Several Spring flower festivals happen in the US during the month of April. Of those listed, which would you most like to see in person...The Skagit Tulip Festival in Skagit Washington, The Dogwood Arts Festival in Knoxville Tennessee, The North Carolina Azalea Festival in Wilmington North Carolina or the Daffodil Festival Weekend on Nantucket Island, Massachussets?
Sorry, I'm not a flower guy! Unless SWMBO indicates a desire to go or someone else drags me kicking and screaming, I'm not going to any flower show.

5. How do you choose which blogs to read?  What is something that will make you stop and read every time? Something that makes you say, 'eh, think I'll skip this one and move on to the next'?
I choose Blogs based upon mutual interests. Another way I choose blogs is randomly from a list of bloggers like that found on Joyce's Hodgepodge blog page or on the A to Z blog page.

6. April is National Mathematics Education Month so tell us, when did you last use math?
I use math every day as do most people I suspect.

7. In honor of the A-Z challenge kicking off on April 1...choose one word beginning with the letter A to describe your yesterday.
Antic - Again, I pranked SWMBO on April Fool's Day.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Today the temperature rose to the low 50's for the first time in awhile. The sky was cobaly blue and clear. The sun felt warm on my face. SWMBO and I went to a local Drive In and had out first ice crem of the year. She had grapenut ice cream and I had watermelon sherbert. Today was a very nice day! I pray God for many more such days.

  1. Our weather here has been in the upper 70's to low 80's...summer is on its way! I was about to fall for your prank hook, line, and sinker! Good one! We've had a rash of burglaries here in our neighborhood this week...it's gotten scary. So, I told my hubby that I want him to teach me how to load and shoot a gun this week. I want to be ready to defend myself and my family, just in case.

    1. I envy you your weather. If you decide to learn how to defend yourself with a firearm also learn how to make your home more secure thereby reducing the likelihood that you'll have to resort to lethal force. I hope you do not become a burglary victim. Stay safe!

    1. I love watermelon. A few years ago Dunkin Donuts had a watermelon coolatta. It was my "crack." I just could not resist. I got hooked on watermelon sherbet at our local Friendly's restaurant. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. What a prankster you are! You had me going, for a minute, with the April Fool's joke!!!

I'm happy to hear that spring is finally finding its way to your house! I'm not too sure about grapenut ice cream though...

By the way, I found it quite interesting, last week, when you shared that you had eaten at 'Croces' and met Jim's wife! It's a small world, huh?
