   I broke my beloved SWMBO! We were affectionately doing something we have done since the first day we were married! (Alright you sicko's, call the tow truck to drag your minds out of the gutter.)
   We were hugging each other. SWMBO is much shorter that I am. The top of her head comes to just under my chin. So, when we hug I have to crouch down a little. On this occasion she had her arms around my neck, I crouched down and put my arms around her. Then, I slowly straightened up as I had done countless times before. SWMBO's feet came off the floor and dangled about three inches off the ground as usual. She says that this gently stretches her back and really feels good. Then all of a sudden...POP! SWMBO yelled out and doubled over in pain grabbing her left side.
   According to competent medical authority SWMBO's rib cracked and separated slightly from her sternum. OUCH! It will take a long time to heal because of the nature and location of the injury.
   I feel really bad! I feel like I drowned a little fuzzy kitty! I know it wasn't anyone's fault and I know SWMBO knows it wasn't anybody's fault. I still feel awful!
    Anyone who knows me knows how much I love SWMBO! Anyone who knows us knows how devoted we are to each other! I am a gentle, non-violent person but I am capable of dispensing extreme violence under certain circumstances. Anyone hurting or threatening to hurt my beloved SWMBO would evoke such an outburst. I would defend her to the death...without hesitation. I would take a bullet for her! I would dive onto a live hand grenade to protect her. So now I have to go and kick my own butt! Fate is so cruel!
     It is impossible for two people who love each other to not hurt each other! SWMBO and I have been together for over 38 years. She is the love of my life! She is my sunshine! She is my Christmas Spirit! She is what civilizes me! However, we have hurt each other, sometimes very deeply, over the years. Yet, we apologize as needed...we forgive and we move on!
     How is this possible! How can one forgive so completely and move on? The answer lies in the example that God provides. He demonstrates such a forgiving love. It is written that God places our sins away from us as far as the east is from the west. He places them into the vast ocean of His forgetfulness and remembers them NO MORE!
    I broke my beloved SWMBO but she forgives great is that?
    Is there someone who needs your forgiveness? I urge you to forgive them...and then move on!

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

     These words were penned 234 years ago by Thomas Jefferson. These words appear in our Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. At the time they were written, most governments consisted of a King or Queen who wielded absolute power. King Louis of France is quoted to have said "LEtat, c'est moi!", I am the State!
     It was clearly understood that to speak out  publicly against the King meant imprisonment and possibly execution. The rights of the citizenry derived from the benevolence of the monarchy. Whatever that King bestowed benevolently He, or his successors, could just as easily revoke with or without just cause.
     What was so radical about what our founding fathers professed was that this paradigm was turned upside down onto it's head. Our founding fathers believed that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed.  They embodied these beliefs in our Constitution, the highest law in the land.
    Our founding fathers believed that the existence of "...their Creator" is self evident, in other words it is an established fact. No further proof is is true!
    They also believe that it was self evident that where the power of government expanded the liberty of the citizenry contracted.
     We can see this being played out in our country today. The United States recently passed a law that most of those those who voted for it did not read it and for the first time requires it's citizens to purchase a product against their will. The liberty of the citizenry is contracting!
     Our system of governance works only if the citizens become informed, become involved and hold our elected representatives accountable. This too is self evident.

     Hello everyone! It's good to speak with you again. I have been away from the blogosphere for awhile. Don't fret, everything is okay. During the month of November I took a couple of weeks of vacation time and enjoyed some "Me" time. For the first time in many years I had Thanksgiving Day off and was able to enjoy it with family.
     Also here in God's country, you may know it better as New Hampshire, it is the annual deer hunting season. You may not know it but I am a terrific hunter. I know where to look for deer sign. I am an excellent marksman with a variety of small arms. I am an excellent hunter. However, I am a lousy finder. I hunt great, I find lousy. I have been hunting for about thirty years. I have 28 unfilled deer tags, meaning I have only been successful twice in all that time.
      You've heard it said that it's not the getting but rather it's the thrill of the chase. That's a bunch of deer droppings. I have had my share of the thrill of the chase and I'm here to tell you that it's not all that thrilling. It's frickin' cold!
      Fortunately for me I enjoy being out in the woods. I love the quiet. I love the wildlife. I love seeing how the hunting area changes from year to year.                  
      Every now and then I actually see a deer. Usually it's during the time when you may only shoot a buck, a male deer. It seems that the does, the female deer, disseminate a memo telling all the other does that it's "Bucks Only" and that it's safe to come out during the day. So, when I see a deer it's usually a doe.   
      Routinely they look at me, quietly chuckle to themselves a little bit, give me the "hoof" and then slowly walk away laughing. Can you imagine that, being dissed by a deer! I don't have to take it...I have a loaded gun...I could shoot them and no one would know! Oh well!
      Anyways, I am back and in the immortal words of General Douglas MacArthur, "I have returned!" So, what's new?
